Top Tip!
Blot as much fresh vomit as you can with a cloth before carrying out this process.

Step-By-Step Instructions

Three easy steps to get vomit and odour out of a mattress.

Step One: Mix the Solution
Mix neat 3% food-grade hydrogen peroxide with one or two drops of dishwashing soap in a bucket.

Note: If you use a higher grade of peroxide, do a patch test first.

Step Two: Apply The Hydrogen Peroxide Solution
Grab a cloth and dip it into your solution. Just enough solution will do, you do not need to drench it. Start blotting the stain with your cloth. You should see it starting to do its job and change colour. Add only enough to make sure the stain is slightly damp.

Step Three: Activate the Peroxide
Lay your towel over the damp area. To activate the peroxide, iron the towel with your steam iron set to medium. The peroxide should be visible through the towel. Make several sweeps over the towel with your iron. Remove the towel, and the stain should be gone. You might occasionally still have a faint shadow.

Final Thoughts on Cleaning Your Mattress with Peroxide

The task is relatively simple. The peroxide has lifted the stain and neutralized the odour after a 10 to 15-minute job. Remember that it is important to let the mattress dry completely.
