What is the Difference Between Baking Soda and Washing Soda?

Most people already know that baking soda is good at cleaning and deodorizing. However, you will see how to chemically change baking soda into washing soda, turbocharging its cleaning power.

Baking soda (sodium carbonate) has a PH of 8.5 and washing soda (soda ash / sodium carbonate) has a PH of 11.5. The high alkalinity of washing soda makes it much more effective at removing grease and stains. Making it a better cleaning option, with the added benefit of being non-toxic.

Do not drink or swallow washing soda, as the corrosive effect is harmful to your body.
