How to Use a Microfiber Flat Mop Like a Pro

Why Are Floors Still Dirty After Mopping?

The simple answer is that you are probably using the old-fashioned rag mop and detergent method.

This means that each time you clean it, you transfer detergent and dirt back into the bucket. Then reapplying the dirt to the floor. Instead of removing dirt from the floor with each pass, more is being ingrained in.

The dirt and emulsification are in turn leaving a residue on the floor. This accumulates over time and leaves a thin layer of dirt and detergent on the floor.

Clean and Reset Floor

Step One:
Using the microfiber mop system. Lightly mist the floor with water (about 20mls, which is about four teaspoons). Wipe the residue from the floor. Follow the general direction of the pattern or grain design on your floor.

Step Two:
Do about five square foot per mop head and throw it in the laundry. Repeat the process with a clean mop head in every section, until the entire floor is clean.

Important!
It is important when laundering microfiber never to use fabric conditioner. The oil in the softener sticks to the fibres. In turn, everything that you clean with the microfiber will smear. Keep microfiber mop heads for water work only.

Floor Maintenance Cleaning

Step One:
Using the microfiber mop system. Lightly mist the floor with water. Go back and forth over the floor about three to four times, starting at the furthest point.

Step Two:
Per mop head, clean 10 to 15 square feet, then add to the laundry. In all probability, one mop head will almost completely cover the entire floor.
